MISSION STATEMENT

“ THE FLYING TIGER ”, organise events that intend to make a contribution for the divulgation of the Portuguese aviation heritage. In doing so, we will help promote the education of the present and future generations, concerning our Aeronautical culture.

To achieve that goal, we perform several activities, such as, guided tours to all Aeronautical places of interest in Portugal, Exhibitions, Publishing and other events.

We are also concluding a very special partnership with the Portuguese Airforce, which will allow us to visit their military bases and museums, stimulating the interest and the recognition of the importance of the Airforce contribution to our society.

All events are organised by Pedro Fernandes, aviation enthusiast, private pilot and airport professional in Faro Airport for 15 years, with the most valuable help of Luis Rosa, renowned aviation photographer and James Lloyd, commercial pilot for 50 years and 28.000 flight hours, wich is our aviation counsellor and expert. The tours are organised in partnership with travel agency TRAVEL LINE.

THE FLYING TIGER organises aviation tours of 3 to 6 days around Portugal, giving you the chance to explore the most interesting and historic aviation places in this country.

All tours are accompanied by Pedro or other Aviation Tour Manager.

The Tour Programme covers all the different areas of aviation in Portugal, such as International Civil Airports, Air force bases, Museums and Air shows.

We also have to offer several optional activities: Flights in aerobatic and classic airplanes, Parachute jumps and a WWII USAAF B-24 Liberator diving experience.

All visits to the International Civil Airports and Military Airbases, will include authorised ramp tours with permission for the taking of photographs or filming. When for operational reasons we don’t receive the access we will stay at the best plane spotting hotspots. Regularly updates about this issue will be made on our website.

THE FLYING TIGER – Aviation Tours will provide all the details of the traffic expected at International Airports, operational aircrafts at Air bases, details of the flying programme for the Air shows, and aircrafts on static display at the Museums. These details are available on our website and will also be mailed to you as soon as we receive your booking form. Also take a look at our web photo gallery witch for sure gives you an idea of what to expect.

Regarding the airshows, some of the dates still have to be confirmed by the organisers as well as some of the details of the programme. Some of these details can only be confirmed in the beginning of 2010, and it may change some tour or/and itineraries dates.
